Progress!
This conversion to PHPBB proved far more difficult than anticipated, but I have some good news. Conversion was successful! We're still working up applying updates and then we'll make the switch over.
Note that any posts on this version won't survive the switch to the new forum, this post included.

Re: Progress!
Great, thanks for letting me know! I'm curious if everyone will need to reset their password. Maybe not a terrible thing.
I need to get this smilie image issue fixed.

Re: Progress!
smilies are really small though. Still some work to do there.
Think I figured how how to fix those
Will take some time, one by one.

The system will ask all users with easily guessed passwords to reset when logging in the first time. Just trying to protect the site a little better.

Re: Progress!
Working a few issues atm associated with the server move:
- Email doesn't appear to be working, so if you're trying to register you won't get the activation email
- When you go to "colorado4x4.org" or "co4x4.org" in a browser it might give you a warning about not being secure (not using https). One of the benefits of moving to PHPBB was to gain that security and you can see it's https in the forum address, so just need to figure out what's up with the root domains.
- Post attachments didn't survive the migration. They're still on the server, but no longer attached to their respective posts. I don't know if we'll be able to fix this, it's a conversion issue which was challenging enough to get any of the data moved over.

Re: Progress!
Great work!
Yes, I did have to renew my password also.
The color scheme didn't follow from being logged out vs logged in. The site started out with brown hues, then after logging in it was blue hues.
Thanks again for the work you have done!

In your user profile you can select which you default to, will see why it is not forcing for everyone.Scott91MJ wrote: Fri Aug 08, 2025 6:55 am Great work!

Re: Progress!
Just went into my profile, started clicking around the tab groups, then it changed to the brown. I didn't click submit or change a single parameter.KrisCNRG wrote: Fri Aug 08, 2025 7:03 am

Right after posting that I went digging and forgot to update. It is overriding the blue them of the site and all should see the main one.Scott91MJ wrote: Fri Aug 08, 2025 7:07 amJust went into my profile, started clicking around the tab groups, then it changed to the brown. Re: Progress!
BTW a huge shout out to Kris, he's the one that suffered through the effort and troubleshooting of the conversion and the server upgrades. He kept me posted on the progress and I'll just say that was a LOT of work, and took a lot of patience. We came close to calling the time on this decades-old project.
Now that we're finally caught up to 2025, maybe we can grow this place again.
