Great idea!!!

I have been looking for a paint can shaker for awhile, but most of them seem to be junk.

I'm headed to Lowe's tomorrow to get some stuff for another project, so I'm going to add some items to my list, and build one of these.

We found it to be an incredibly useful tool, especially given the cost and time required to put together.

So, Lowe's didn't have the Test Plug, so I found them on Amazon. I went ahead and bought two for less than $10.

I have 3" pipe left over from a landscaping project, and scrounged up a couple of nuts and washers.

UPS delivered my Amazon order today, so in a few minutes, I had two built up. Took longer to cut the pipe and remove burrs, than anything else.

I used one on several cans of paint and found it to work pretty well. I found that if I dislodged the ball, before using the tool, that it works better.

Still beats shaking a can for a couple of minutes.

Overall, I'm happy with the end result.

I will still say that manual shaking is completely free and is enough justification to avoid going to the gym that day.

Thanks for the update. FYI- a faster rotation usually frees up the ball quickly. Only problem to continual high speed is that the ball doesn't seem to travel up or down within the can, only spins in the same orbit. Slower speeds do not seem to be an issue. So maybe start with a faster setting and once you hear the ball, then slow the rotation down a bit.
