Does anyone in town do balljoint D60 high steer machining / arms???

Post by Short Bus »

I'm ready to get high steer arms put on my 2005 Superduty 60 knuckles. It seems that there are 2 realistic on line options (Weaver Fab and Four Wheel Supply - found on Pirate) that I can ship them to and have machining done and arms installed. I'd rather keep the $$$ local if anyone in town does this kind of work.

Any ideas who could do this in the Denver area?

Anyone on here have a newer superduty axle with high steer? If so, who's arms did you choose?

Thanks!

I have a '99 to '04 axle and used Weaver Fab. Got a good deal on them during a Christmas sale they had a couple of years ago. They do excellent work. I liked their design better then other shops I found. They use 6 bolts, instead of 4 or 5, like the other shops. They remove the least amount of material they have to and key the high steer arms to the knuckles in two different directions. Plus the arms are thicker then what others offer. I haven't looked at what they a doing on the '05+ axles, but I'm sure it's well thought out.

I searched around town for someone to do the 99-04 style without luck. I ended up going with weaverfab as well. I couldn't be happier with the service, turn around, and product. I saw the 05+ design on pirate the other day and it looks just as nice.

I ended up going with the Four Wheel Supply arms. Basically, it looks like the 04 down arm mounted upside down in the 05 knuckle. I REALLY like the Weaver 2005+ arms better, but these ended up $250 cheaper after you add in the FWS 10% pirate discount and that Weaver adds $68 for return shipping. Hopefully I'll see the knuckles back early next week.

I'm still in the process of cutting all of the radius arm bracket and casting off. It feels like if cut a good 10lbs of steel off already!

Thanks guys, but Like I said I need it tomorrow as I'm coming into to town. Other wise I'd buy the one Barnes 4x4 has for the driver side. I need to be able to walk in and buy one.
